Over the past three years, Friedrich Watkins Company (FWC) has been instrumental in helping the Florida Habitat for Humanity (HFH) ReStore’s reach their monthly projections. Without donations from Friedrich Watkins Company, some of the HFH ReStore’s would not have met their goals, as regular donations from the public have been small in this slow economy.
“We have enjoyed our partnership with Habitat for Humanity statewide and look forward to continuing this partnership for years,” Tom Cregan, President, Friedrich Watkins Company.
Three years ago, Friedrich Watkins Company (FWC) began searching for a charitable organization that could benefit from major donations of furniture and appliances that were being replaced in current renovations of local resorts and timeshares. FWC formed a special relationship with Habitat for Humanity.
Donations of bedroom dressers, televisions, mini-refrigerators, and night stands were a big hit in all of the HFH ReStore’s. FWC’s next resort renovation project is scheduled to begin next month, which will allow for a new wave of donations with new styles of furniture.
“The donations have raised a very large part of the funds contributing to new homes built for Habitat for Humanity families all over the state of Florida”, Marie Kiser, Operations Manager, Habitat for Humanity. “We are grateful to FWC’s dedication and commitment to Habitat for Humanity Florida for all these years.”
FWC originally began their partnership with the Apopka affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, but over the years, and with numerous resort renovations, FWC was able to help many of the Habitat for Humanity affiliates all over Florida. Some of the affiliates that have benefited are:
• Sanford
• Casselberry
• Orlando
• Baldwin Park
• Sarasota
• Clearwater
• Jacksonville
• West Palm Beach
• Lakeland
• Eustis
• Leesburg
• Groveland
• St. Augustine
• Camden County
• Kissimmee
• Pinellas County
• St. Petersburg
• Winter Garden
• Manatee County
• Citrus County
• East Pasco County

Habitat for Humanity ReStore’s are part of the Habitat for Humanity affiliate that sells new and used donated items in a home improvement/upscale thrift store environment. Proceeds from sales of the donated merchandise help the local Habitat for Humanity affiliates raise money to build Habitat for Humanity homes in their communities.
